C19th Neoclassical Ebonized Demilune Console Table with Hand-Cut Carrara Marble

19th Century Neoclassical Ebonized Demilune Console Table with Hand-Cut Carrara Marble

An exceptional late 19th-century statement piece, this elegant half-moon console table effortlessly pairs a striking ebonized black timber frame with a heavy, premium slab of genuine Italian Carrara marble.

Originally sourced from a premium private collection with a historic purchase value of AU$6,000, the table features classic Neoclassical lines supported by beautifully hand-carved ball-and-claw feet, making it a versatile architectural anchor for luxury entryways, hallways, or narrow parlor spaces.

The authenticity of its craftsmanship is beautifully preserved on the unexposed rear and underside of the stone, where rustic manual tool marks and hand-cut notches showcase its manual fabrication by a stonemason before the era of modern industrial saws. Structurally rigid and in excellent antique condition, the sharp underside edges have been lightly hand-dressed for safe handling while completely preserving the integrity, historical patina, and investment value of this magnificent imported or early colonial treasure.
