Introduce a timeless piece of French history into your home with this exceptional 19th-century Louis Philippe extending dining table. Sourced directly from the regional heartlands of France, this versatile masterpiece perfectly blends mid-1800s classic elegance with exceptional modern functionality.
Expertly crafted from solid French Walnut (Noyer), the tabletop showcases an exquisite, highly figured grain pattern. The wood transitions beautifully from a rich honey-amber tone to deep, smoky brown waves, boasting a smooth, dense patina that only centuries of careful waxing can achieve.
True to the understated luxury of the Louis Philippe period (circa 1830–1848), the table features clean, refined lines and stands on beautifully turned bobbin (spool-style) legs. The legs are fitted with their original antique brass and ceramic casters, allowing the piece to be moved with ease.
Unrivaled Versatility & Clever Engineering
Designed for space-saving efficiency without sacrificing grand style, this rare model features dual functionality:
  • The Drop-Leaf Feature: Collapse one or both rounded leaves to transform the table into a compact breakfast table, a casual kitchen piece, or a handsome console against the wall.
  • The Extension System: The center frame smoothly pulls apart on heavy-duty, original wooden runner slides, allowing you to insert extension leaves to comfortably accommodate larger dinner parties and festive gatherings.
Whether styled in a contemporary Australian home, a rustic farmhouse kitchen, or a formal dining room, this authentic French import serves as an incredible structural statement piece and a true conversation starter.
