Astonishing oak farm table, XVIIIth century.

An early 18th century French Regence period, solid oak farmhouse table from the area of Lower Normandy, designed with typically large overhangs and with sturdy legs joined by an 'H' stretcher. The top is made from just 3 exceptionally thick and well-burnished planks of oak, built with early construction techniques, with the the legs being joined directly into the table top (please note the tenons on the tabletop surface) - the construction allowing plenty of leg-room under the top.

Please note the elegance of the few repairs on the table top and some parts of the table.

Area of the Calvados, circa 1720.

Condition report: Complete and in unrestored condition. Retaining a rich, original patina throughout.
